So what is CERT anyways?

CERT provides a 26 hour academy that provides a broad base of training in disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical, light search and rescue and many other aspects of preparation and response. The 2022 academy season is now completed but check here for the first academy of 2023. It will be in January.
